MISSION
The vision of Family Outreach is "strengthening families and children to provide a safer world, one family at a time." Our mission is "strengthening families and children through volunteer-based community programs to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect."
FOA HISTORY
Family Outreach established its first center to serve the Richardson-Plano, Texas area in 1973 and has expanded into five other Dallas-area communities. More than 35 centers now operate in Texas with additional centers planned. Family Outreach volunteers are men and women committed to a common goalhelping children grow up safe, confident, and capable of building better families of their own.
Our objective is to connect families having problems with concerned and trained volunteers drawn from the community. The center provides casework and parent mentoring to at-risk families. Trained volunteers offer the following services to families experiencing child-related problems:
WHO DO WE SERVE?
Any parent currently feeling excessive stress in his or her life, which contribute to that parent being unable to adequately nurture and protect their children. The client may come to Family Outreach as a self-referral, a community referral or a CPS referral.

Family Outreach Center of East Dallas is a joint venture of community volunteers and Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, Child Protective Services. The purpose of the center is PREVENTION of child abuse and neglect by STRENGTHENING families.
